Thurmaston

Like all of our nurseries Thurmaston is organised around the different age groups of children. This allows our daily routines, rest periods play and learning activities to be structured to individual developmental needs. All children will be dedicated a key worker who will work closely with them providing care and support and helping them feel happy, confident and secure.

We pride ourselves on making the transition for parents returning to work and children starting nursery as smooth as possible. As one of the smaller nurseries in the Bear Care group, Thurmaston day nursery offers young children time and space to explore, experiment, reflect and develop at their own individual pace: physically, socially, intellectually, linguistically and emotionally.

Downstairs parents and carers will find babies and younger children. The light front room accommodates space for carpet toys and other quiet games whilst the adjoining conservatory offers a space for messy play and meal times.

To the back of the conservatory is the outdoor play area, with concrete, grasses and wood chip areas this space is perfect to ride toys safely, play with outdoor games and make use of outdoor climbing equipment.

Upstairs the Nursery offers space for toddlers and pre-school age children. The Toddler room has space for construction, imaginative play and quieter activities; messy play is available in the adjoining pre-school room.

Similarly to other Bear Care nurseries upstairs pre school resembles more of a school environment. Here children will not only have the opportunity to develop in an intimate setting but will also have the opportunity to look at books, use the computer and numeracy equipment as well as the much loved messy play!

The garage has been converted into a modern, spacious fully self contained room with toilets and messy play facilities. In the near future we have been successful in our bid for funding for out door play, and we will be constructing a canopy so that children can be involved in activities whatever the weather, and new rubberised soft play areas will replace the existing flag stones and bark chippings.

We are a family run business that likes to cater for all of our childrens individual needs...
